The Tecumseh men had a great showing at Milan for the Division 2 Regional 13 track and field meet. The Indians place 2nd out of 16 teams. State qualifiers were Gabe Bechtol in Pole vault with a winning height 13’10. Robert Talicska secured second in Pole vault to qualify for states with a 11’6. Jacob Denison qualified for the state meet by winning in the 400m with a time of 50.7. Parker Hedrick qualified for the state meet in the 800m with a second place win time of 1:59.87. Payton Norkey was a state qualifier in two individual events with dual wins in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurldes with a time of 14.99 and 40.28.
The men’s 4x100m relay ( Gabe Bechtol, Ryan Roberts, Deandre Blayer, Jacob Denison)won to qualify for the state meet with times of 44.45. The men’s 4x200m relay team placed second to qualify with a time of 1:32.69. The 4x200m relay team consisted of Payton Norkey, Ryan Roberts, Deandre Blayer, Jacob Denison. The men’s 4x400m relay secured a win and qualified for states with a Payton Norkey, Jacob Denison, Eric Ries, and Parker Hedrick with a time of 3:27.62. The Tecumseh men’s 4×800 placed second in with a time of 8:13.48 to qualify for states with Parker Hedrick, Eric Ries, Ian Thomsen, and Alex Lammers.
Congratulations to the Indians heading to Division 2 state meet June 2nd.. The Tecumseh Indians will take 17 strong heading to the State meet at Zeeland East.
