Tecumseh’s varsity boys basketball team has won three straight games with the most recent win coming at home over the Trojans from Homer Wednesday night. The Indians played well, but Homer remained in striking distance with the final score ending up 59-50. Tecumseh stands at 3-3 overall / 0-1 SEC White.
“We’ve won three straight. All of our games have been close. As easily as we could be 6-0, we could just as easily be 0-6. We are getting used to winning and gaining confidence, but must improve in the following areas if we want to beat the better teams on our schedule: end of quarter execution (basketball IQ), rebounding, and free throw shooting (putting teams away late in games). We will stress all these areas in upcoming practices, and it’s up to the kids how good they want to be,” commented Coach Mike Ruhl.
Statistically for Tecumseh were Payton Norkey with 22 points (11 / 13 FT) and 5 rebounds; Alex Foss with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists; Drew Cameron with 9 points and 3 assists; Bryce Colf with 7 points and 4 rebounds; Cormac Phelan with 6 points and 6 rebounds; and Jared Lipnichan with 2 points.
Tecumseh travels to Pinckney next Tuesday and Dexter next Friday (7pm tips).
