Qualifying members of the Tecumseh High School Girls Swim Team Competed in the MHSAA Division 3 State Swim Meet on Friday and Saturday. The team finished 12th overall, out of 37 teams, with a total of 67 points and set 2 Tecumseh High School Varsity Records. All the Tecumseh Girls that swam in the prelims on Friday swam in at least one event in the finals on Saturday. Only the top 16 times in the prelims move on to the finals on Saturday.
Brynn Nevins set the Varsity Record for the 50 Freestyle on Friday with a time of 24.26 and had 2 individual all state (top 8) swims in the finals on Saturday, placing 4th in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.52 and 7th in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 54.44. Ashlyn Clewis also swam in an individual event in the finals on Saturday placing 15th in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:02.11. The 200 Freestyle Relay consisting of Kamilla Linn, Ashlyn Clewis, Julianne Lore, and Brynn Nevins received all state honors finishing in 5th place in the finals and setting a Varsity Record with a time of 1:40.08. The previous record of 1:41.40 was set in 2005. The 400 Freestyle Relay consisting of Brynn Nevins, Emma Hoffman, Veda Massanari-Thatcher, and Kamilla Linn competed in the finals finishing in 12th place with a time of 3:45.11.
Other swim from the Friday prelims included:
*The 200 Medley Relay consisting of Ashlyn Clewis, Veda Massanari-Thatcher, Emma Hoffman, and Julianne Lore who finished 22nd with a time of 1:58.37.
*Veda Massanari-Thatcher in the 200 Individual Medley finishing 22nd with a time of 2:18.86 and in the 500 Freestyle finishing 32nd with a time of 5:37.77.
*Kamilla Linn in the 50 Freestyle finishing 20th with a time of 25.53 and in the 100 Freestyle finishing 26th with a time of 55.99.
*Ashlyn Clewis in the 100 Freestyle finishing 20th with a time of 55.05.
