Indians News · SEC/MHSAA Officials Recruiting Night – June 1

Data from the MHSAA, and around the country, is telling us that we are headed for a shortage of officials that will our ability to schedule high school and middle school sports.  The Southeastern Conference, in partnership with the MHSAA, is ramping up our efforts to aid in the recruitment and retention of quality officials across our sport spectrum.
Ypsi-Lincoln will be hosting an “Officials Recruitment Night” on June 1st, from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center here at Ypsilanti Lincoln High School.
Who are we looking for?
We want your community’s graduating Seniors, college students, and sports-minded residents that are looking to stay involved in sports and pick up some extra income.

Why host an event?
We believe that there are future officials in our midst; candidates who may not know about how lucrative officiating can be, candidates who may not know how to get involved, or candidates who may not be aware of the training available.
Our event will feature speakers from the Michigan High School Athletic Association, as well as assignors from all of our league sports.  They’ll explain how to get involved, trained…and sign them up to get games!
What does it cost?
The SEC/MHSAA Officials Recruiting Night is free!  We’ll even provide refreshments.
7 p.m. – Meet & Greet w/Refreshments
7:15 p.m. – MHSAA Program
8:15 p.m. – Breakout Sessions w/SEC Officials Assignors
