The Tecumseh Indians Boys Bowling Team established some new achievements at this years State Tournament. First off, the Tribe came to play on Friday for the MHSAA Division 2 Team Event being held at the Super Bowl in Canton. The boys for the first time ever made it into the Match Play phase of the tournament representing the best 8 teams in the state. The Tribe took out the second seed, Coldwater HS, and moved into the Semi-Finals. The boys bowled well, but couldn’t overcome the 255 Baker Game that eventual State Champion Lowell HS bowled, and ended up tied for third. The final state rankings came out this weekend too, and the Indians ended up ranked #3 in the State, also the highest the boys Tribe has ever been ranked.
On Saturday, during the Singles phase of the State Tournament, Tecumseh had three bowlers in the tournament. Both the boys and girls tournaments featured 60 bowlers. Junior, Kendall Herron, represented THS and finished 24th. Sophomore, Logan Hoffmeister, finished in 31st. The star of the day was Senior, Tevon Hastings. Tevon made into the match play phase. Unfortunately, Tevon Hastings was knocked out by the eventual State Champion. Tevon was close to winning the match, but fell just a little short.
