It’s been a busy last five days for the Boy’s Golf Team. Tecumseh hosted the THS Invitational on Saturday April 30th at Hantz GC. With 16 teams in attendance the Indians finished 5th overall with a team score of 357. Drew Whelan led the way for the Indians with an 80 earning him a top 10 finish. Brady Wild with another solid round carding an 88 and Carter Clarke with a 93 while Alex Foss rounded out the Indians team score with a 96. Chelsea won the tournament with a team score of 310 with Ann Arbor Huron finishing runner up with a 317. The medalist for the day was Ann Arbor Huron’s Brandon Petzak with a stunning 1 under par round of 71. The weather playing a factor with temps in the low 50’s and steady rain the entire round, it was sure to test the mental fortitude of ALL players on the course that day.
Monday the Indians hosted Chelsea at Hantz for a Dual meet. The Indians (175) lost to Chelsea (158) bringing their SEC White Division record to 0-1. Carter Clarke and Drew Whelan each carded a 41 for the low round of the day. Aaron Ebersole continues to improve as the season progresses making his debut on the Varsity line up firing a 48 for the day. The tribe golfers will face another SEC White Division team, the Lincoln Railsplitters on Wednesday at Pine View GC.
Tuesday the Indians traveled to The Grande Golf Course in Jackson to attend the Onsted Invitational. The Indians placed 6th in their division for the day. Drew Whelan carding an 86, just one stroke behind was Drew Kapnick with an 87 and Aaron Ebersole turning in a solid round of 88.
This Saturday the Indians Golf team will attend the County Invitational at Devils Lake GC where they will look to defend their winning streak 6 of the last 7 years.
