On May 31st, the Tecumseh Varsity Men’s and Women’s top performers competed in the Lenawee county championship meet at Onsted.  The athletes competed hard and set many personal bests on the track and in the field events.  Some notable performances were Mitch Meger with a first place finish in the 200 meter and 3 place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.36.  Mitch also placed 2nd in the 400m. Mitch teamed up with Payton Norkey, Jeff Case, and Tommy Mammel to place 2nd in the 1600m relay.  Jeff Case placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of2:00.  Payton Norkey placing first in the 110 hurdles and placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles.

The Tecumseh women’s top performers had a great showing at the county championship meet. Leading the team was Christina Sawyer who took first in the 3200. Freshman Tyler Fugate won the 100 meter dash with 13.25 and placed 3rd in pole vault with a personal record and school record with a height of 9’6. Tyler teamed up with Harley and Hailey Whitehead, and Victoria Tinsley to finish 2nd in the 400m relay with a season best time of 52.19.

Both Mens and Womens team are back on the track on June 4th at the MHSAA state track meet at Zeeland.
